Traffic Court Records in Chelan County
Chelan County District Court holds the limited-jurisdiction traffic files. Infractions, criminal traffic, misdemeanors, and gross misdemeanors all land on its docket. The county also routes city matters here from Wenatchee, Chelan, Cashmere, and Leavenworth. Wenatchee runs a Violations Bureau for citation contact and intake. It is not a general trial court, though. A felony or other general-jurisdiction matter goes to Chelan County Superior Court instead.
A traffic docket entry may show the citation, issue and filing dates, party role, settings, response, disposition, payments, and an abstract. The abstract goes to the Department of Licensing. The label is not the filed document itself. For a certified judgment, citation, docket, or recording, ask the District Court Clerk. Ask for the exact item. Current scope and contacts are on the official District Court page.
Chelan Traffic Search Fields
For the Washington Courts limited-court search, a full citation or case number works best. A name search alone can pull results from more than one court. Narrow it by county, court, year, and case type. City-origin citations may still sit under the county court.
| Field | Use |
|---|---|
| Court level | Select limited jurisdiction. |
| Court | Use the notice or clerk-confirmed name. |
| Number | Enter every printed character. |
| Name and year | Narrow a broad match list. |
| Type | Separate criminal traffic from infraction traffic. |
The official limited-court search can return a case summary and activities, but it certifies nothing.
How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket
If a new citation has not posted yet, or a result is unclear, try every available route. The notice itself comes first, since it names the response route and the deadline.
- Copy the court, issuing agency, citation number, and response date.
- Search Washington Courts by the full number, then try a narrowed name search.
- Use Find My Court Date and compare the result with case activities.
- Call District Court at 509-667-6600, or Wenatchee Violations Bureau at 509-888-4210 when applicable.
- Visit the clerk counter at 350 Orondo Avenue, fourth floor, if in-person review is needed.
Need a copy instead? A mailed, emailed, or faxed record request to the clerk is another path. State the file, document, format, and whether certification or audio is required.
Chelan County Deferral Window
A deferred finding never happens on its own. Chelan County requires a request within 30 days of receipt. A judge sets the terms. The county describes a one-year period. It permits one moving and one non-moving deferral in seven years. CDL holders and commercial-vehicle citations are excluded. Passing a school bus, fatality-related infractions, no-insurance matters, and certain license violations are excluded too.
Finish the terms and the deferred ticket is not reported to DOL. Fail, and things can go wrong. A new infraction, unpaid fee, or missed traffic school can cause a committed finding. The county puts the administrative fee at up to $175, with school about $45. Verify the signed order. The county deferral page shows eligibility.

The official screen helps a requester check conditions before filing.
Finding Your Traffic Court Date
A date printed on a citation can be a response deadline. It may not be a trial. Check the proceeding type. Find My Court Date updates daily for municipal and district matters. A continued, struck, or reset entry means the old date is stale.
| Citation Number | Use the exact number as printed. |
|---|---|
| Court | Record the displayed court and location. |
| Date and Time | Separate a deadline from a hearing. |
| Proceeding | Mitigation, contested, arraignment, pretrial, or review. |
| Status | Scheduled, continued, struck, disposed, or no-show. |
Treat online calendars as aids, not replacements for a signed notice or clerk confirmation. Late changes may miss the county's prior-day posting.
Chelan Written Hearing Choice
Chelan County lets you resolve an infraction by written statement, either mitigated or contested. Mitigation accepts the infraction and seeks a lower penalty. A contested statement asks the court to decide whether it occurred, under the civil standard. With no hearing set, submission must come before midnight on the thirtieth day after issue. With a hearing set, the statement must arrive three business days before it.
The written route spares you an appearance. The county says its decision cannot be appealed, though. Include a current address and follow the official submission method. Trials and evidentiary hearings follow different appearance rules.
Paying or Contesting a Ticket
The notice controls your choices. Payment resolves the amount as a committed finding, while mitigation admits the infraction and seeks a reduction. Contesting asks whether it occurred, and deferral runs under its own rules. A payment receipt is not the full docket.
| Pay or Mitigate | Contest |
|---|---|
| Pay or request mitigation as instructed. | Request a contested hearing on time. |
| A committed finding is reported to DOL. | The court decides whether the infraction occurred. |
| Payment or written statement may be offered. | Appearance or an authorized statement may be used. |
Missed response: Contact the clerk at once. Criminal traffic can involve a warrant, while an infraction failure can lead to DOL and collection action.
Past a DOL suspension date, the county says full penalty plus a $52 failure-to-appear fee may be required. The docket determines the correct remedy.
Chelan Missed-Date Procedure
Miss a criminal or criminal-traffic setting? District Court sends you to the fourth-floor counter with the case number to check or quash a warrant. A missed mitigation or contested infraction may need a written response or show-cause appearance. Sending a request does not stop a DOL suspension. The missed-date instructions separate those routes.

The official page explains why quick clerk contact matters.
Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record
Two offices, two files. District Court keeps the court case. Washington DOL keeps the driving record. The docket can show a citation, settings, disposition, payments, and an abstract to DOL, but it is not a driving history. WSP criminal history is separate again.
| Court record | Driver record | |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | District Court Clerk | Washington DOL |
| Shows | Citation, hearings, result, payments | Licensing actions and reportable events |
| Access | Court search or request | DOL request channel |
The traffic page explains court reporting.

It links a court outcome to DOL without confusing the two records.
Chelan Online Deferral Form
The online deferral form asks for license state and number, citation, charge, name, birth date, address, phone, email, and signature. It also asks about prior deferrals and CDL status. Note that these are application fields, not public search fields. The official form displays them.

Reviewing the form can prevent an incomplete request, but a judge still decides it.
Fees and Copies
Ask for a plain copy when an informational image is enough. Request certification when a formal clerk authentication is needed. The form covers dockets, citations, judgments, orders, and recordings.
| Item | Fee | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hard copy | $0.50 per page | Plain paper |
| Electronic image | $0.25 per page | If available |
| Certified copy | $5 first page, $1 additional | Ask expressly |
| Audio CD | $20 | Give hearing details |
| Search after two hours | $15 per hour | After free period |
A card convenience fee of four percent is published as well. Ticket penalties vary, so use the notice and the docket for the actual amount.
Chelan Citation Status Terms
A few codes carry real weight. "CONTd" means the hearing was continued. "STRIKE" pulls a setting off the calendar, and "NOSHOW" notes a missed appearance. "ABDOL" signals an abstract sent to DOL. "PAYAGR" points to a payment agreement on the traffic ticket. Until a finding appears on the Chelan County court docket, the charge is only an allegation.
- Case status
- Open, pending, closed, or restricted.
- Disposition
- The result, such as dismissal or committed finding.
- Register of actions
- Dated filings, settings, and court activity.
- Certified copy
- A copy authenticated by the clerk.
Always read each Chelan County code in context, and ask the clerk when a public display conflicts with a mailed notice.
Chelan Traffic Record Sequence
A Chelan County case summary often lists two dates for one traffic ticket. The issue date is when the citation was written. The filing date is when the court took it in. Hearing entries in the court docket may add detail. Think the judicial officer, the courtroom, how you appeared, and the type of proceeding. The disposition records the result. Payment activity or later DOL action can sit further down the history. Reading that full sequence keeps the first event from being mistaken for the final outcome.
Need certified proof? Name the exact last order or judgment rather than asking for a vague "full record." Give the clerk your case number. Include the document date if you know it. Say whether you want a plain electronic image or certified paper. For audio, provide the hearing date and time.
Chelan No-Insurance Proof
No-insurance tickets follow their own county process. If you had valid coverage at the time, and you meet the local requirements, you can submit proof for dismissal. The published cost is a $25 administrative fee. That route is separate from payment, mitigation, a contested hearing, or a deferral. Chelan County also excludes no-insurance allegations from its deferral program.
Follow the deadline on the notice and the official instructions. A document mailed to the city may never reach the court file. So keep your delivery confirmation. Watch the docket for any resulting action. If proof gets rejected or nothing posts, call the clerk with your citation number before the window closes.
